Thank You For Joining Us at The Union Picnic

Thank you to everyone that was able to make it to our Union Picnic. We had some wonderful weather and some even better food. We would also like to extend a big thank you to Scott and Sue Black. Those delicious Italian Sausage, the corn bread, the baked beans, and the homemade BBQ sauce was all made by Scott and his wife Sue
We had three Union members participate in our first annual BBQ contest. All three contestants were provided with two briskets and asked to work there magic. Our contestants were Scott Black, Rick Hanson, and Tony Burkhalter. The winner was your Union President Tony Burkhalter. All the participants received a Local 251 sweatshirt and Tony took home the trophy.
During the Picnic we also raffled off 14 ride passes to Septemberfest, a 80 dollar value, and the chance to throw a pie at a Union official. Thank you to everyone that participated in the raffles.
At the picnic we had the privilege to honor some of our members for their accomplishments with the Union. .

Miss Peggy is a member of Omaha Housing Authority. She has been a Union Member for 48 years. We wanted to honor Miss Peggy for her commitment to our Union and to Omaha Housing Authority.

Scott Homan is the Steward at the District 1 Street Maintenance shop. Scott has been a strong leader and has turned District 1 into a 100% Union shop. Thank you Scott for your hard work and dedication to our Union
