WHY SHOULD I JOIN LOCAL 251?

Joining a union can provide you with a number of benefits as a worker. Here are a few reasons why you might consider joining Local 251:

1. This can be especially helpful if you feel that you are being treated unfairly or are not being compensated fairly for your work.

2. Legal representation: Local 251 can provide legal representation for their members in case of disputes with employers. This can include filing grievances or taking legal action if necessary.

TOGETHER WE BARGAIN DIVIDED WE BEG

"Together we bargain, divided we beg" is a phrase used to emphasize the importance of collective bargaining and union solidarity. The idea behind this phrase is that when workers come together and negotiate with their employer as a united front, they have greater bargaining power and are more likely to achieve their goals. On the other hand, if workers are divided and negotiate individually, they may be more easily exploited or ignored by their employer.

Collective bargaining is the process of negotiating with an employer for better wages, benefits, and working conditions on behalf of a group of workers. When workers join a union, they can bargain collectively with their employer, which can lead to better outcomes for everyone involved. By standing together and presenting a united front, workers can achieve more than they would be able to as individuals.

Ultimately, the phrase "together we bargain, divided we beg" serves as a reminder of the importance of union solidarity and the power of collective action in achieving workplace rights and protections.
