On October 6th 2019, Cameron Crook, Hummel Park Caretaker was involved in a vehicle accident and left in critical condition, including possible permanent paralysis. His wife Brooklyn will have to quit her job to be a full time caretaker of not only him but their one year old daughter. The Park and Recreation department is hosting a Chili Cook Off at Benson Park Pavilion on November 8 from 11:30-2 PM. The chili will be $6 a bowl (includes a drink and dessert) and $3 for seconds. There will also be a raffle and a 50/50 drawing. All the money raised will be for Cameron and his family to help offset the large costs of healthcare and other medical expenses. Local 251 is also asking for items to be raffled off at the fundraiser.
